A 23-year-old woman was rescued Monday after she was allegedly kidnapped the evening before in the Fort Walton Beach area.
The woman, who had suffered “numerous contusions,” was taken to a local hospital for treatment but is expected to recover, according to Michele Nicholson, a spokeswoman for the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials began searching for the woman at about 2 p.m. Monday after receiving a tip that she had been tied up, beaten and placed into a white pickup truck around 7 p.m. Sunday, the release stated.
They found her about two hours later at 643 Calhoun Ave. in Destin after a deputy spotted the pickup truck linked to the alleged kidnapping outside the home.
Two females were in custody for questioning Monday evening, Nicholson said.
No charges had been filed Monday evening.
